ImageDon’t be Mistaken! Hungarian style is very different from a normal pig roast party. This program offers an insight to a very old Hungarian family tradition and includes all aspects of the pig killing, preparation and eating of the meat. Traditionally this is a family party that starts early morning with Palinka (home made fruit brandy) and ends early evening with more Palinka! This is a fantastic Hungarian family celebration that enables friends, neighbors and now you also to eat drink and gossip. Guaranteed a fun feast and party for all .

The location is a Hungarian farm in the country side, 30 – 40 km from Budapest. Tallying with the traditions the day starts with Palinka. Usually the pig is killed before the group arrives. Guests can participate in the carving and the preparation of the pig (under the supervision of the pig-slaughter man) Participants will make sausages and black pudding, they can even compete and see who can make the most sausages in a given time.
Of course the meals will be based on the feast of the pig killing. For breakfast roasted liver, fresh bread and home made pickles. For lunch special meat soup called orjaleves, roast meat, potato, bread and home made pickles. For dinner stuffed cabbage, grilled sausage and black pudding and bread. And if your still hungry between lunch and dinner you can try fresh pork crackling. Mulled wine, palinka, wine, beer and soft drink are available all day in unlimited quantity.
During the afternoon you will have the chance to try “green” wine in the local wine cellar.
